I have read so many articles and chapters in my art history class on semiotics recently that my brain hurts when I think about it. So instead of going really deep into the topic of narratives I wanted to simply convey a narrative.
Originally, I wanted to create a narrative for a color. I have been reading a book on the history of colors and I thought it would be a challenging subject to narrate. However, as I started preparing for the photo, I realized it would be a better series and wouldn't be able to stand alone well. So I changed my mind and began to think of narratives in my everyday life. Some idea's I came up with was procrastination, friends, and my room as a narrative for who I am and what my days are like.
Well, this idea might still happen however I, by chance, happened along a already constructed narrative when I came home one day. I know the cat thing is old and done, but where I live there is this colony of cats there is the mean older one, the two kittens and a 'momma' cat that seldom comes around but when it does it stills her kittens' food. Well, this one evening, I saw one of the kittens climbing up a tree( probably about 10 ft in the air at least) and then I saw the other already in the tree, and the mean older cat hovering on the bottom of the tree. I thought it was funny so I took the picture. This is also an option.... maybe.....
I'm not so sure about the cats. It's a funny story, but it doesn't translate into the image. I would concentrate on your narrative of the everyday.
