first project

This is a photo of an abandoned area by my house that I find really interesting. I was thinking of sandwiching it with a photo I took of the bridge by Norman. This is a rough photoshopping of what it will look like.

This is a reflection of trees in a puddle that I am going to use as my photo of distorted reality.

Some of my Photos

Comment? I'm so cool

Stuffs So Far

These scans are really shitty, but here you go. These are my penetrative seeing and my slow seeing images.

Wright Morris Reading

This made me think of our reading discussion on Tuesday, particularly the discussion we had about the photographer's authorship and how it affects the purity of the photograph.

Project One

These are some of the images I've been working on. The final image size is 11 x 14 so I took them from the contact sheets (since the paper wont fit on the scanner I'm using at home). I'm pretty set on using the dinosaur image for the "penetrative seeing", but any input on choosing between the three "intensified seeing" images would be nice. So here they are...

Project 1

Project 1

This is the first couple rolls I shot to show you were I am trying to go with this. I am working on the slow shutter speed. The two images of the candle are the ones I am really trying to work on. I want to make the figure clear but also have some of the face darkened. The Gamorrean Guard is a bobble head and I am trying to get him clear but his face blurry which I am having a little difficulty with. This project I am really trying to experiment more, I am trying double exposure on the roll I am working on now so it will be interesting to see how those turn out. Will have those posted soon, so please let me know what you think!

So right now I'm working on the movement and passage of time
as well as doubling two photos into one.
These aren't the finished prints because
they aren't the
right contrast and they contain dust spots.
But you are able to get the general idea.
Also another photo that I plan on doing is mirrors in a field
with a girl in a white dress walking in/out through the mirrors.
(Hopefully it will work out.)

PROJECT 1! Images

Well, I wanted to create my own "style" with these photographs by limiting the amount of information I give in each photograph. For the photogram the images are going to be extremely limited and unclear: the snapshot a view of a window that questions where it ends, the reportage photo containing no identifiable people, the penetrative view an abstracted view through glass unable to see what is what, and so on. For the intense, I am going to attempt double exposure as well as long-term which I have yet to do. Just for kicks I am going to try solarization. =)

-Britt

These are two of the images that I was considering printing for my snapshot. The bottom one needs some work and the top one is backwards, but I wanted to give a general idea.

uh I don't know how to do a lot of this computer stuff, but I' m trying. It cut off weird parts of my pictures. These are abstracted and distorted.

What I've been workin on..

Assignment number 1! So its been an over view of techniques and processes, showin we know how to use our cameras. It feels so good to be back in the darkroom! I've been heading out to shoot without anything in mind really, but I've noticed a consistent theme through my first two rolls, so I think I'll continue with it. I'm going to call this series "Fragile Remains," or "Little Fragile Things." I'm studying of the passage of time and small details... the rest of which I'll save for my artist statement. Until then-- here we go! Prints 1 and 2. They have a little dust so I'm planning on reprinting, but other than that, I'm content. Feel free to comment with any critiques! Thanks,
Shannon
